Anne Hathaway on hosting the Oscars again: 'Why not? I don't know. Maybe. Perhaps. No.'
"The critics were tough," Anne Hathaway admitted to Matt Lauer on the "Today Show." "They said we were the worst show ever. I think that qualifies as tough."
The interview marked the first time that the star spoke publicly about co-hosting the Oscar ceremony with James Franco.
"I think about the Oscars as several different experiences," she added. "There was the critical reaction, which was awful. Then there are the people who have been coming up to me since then who stop and say, 'I thought it was fantastic. I watched it with my family and we were entertained.' I am very grateful to those people.
"And then there's my memory of it, which is -- whether it was great or whether it stunk -- who knows? I still got to walk out on the Kodak [stage] and see those people and someday I'll get to tell my grandkids about it."
When Lauer asked her if she'd ever consider hosting the Oscars again, she replied, "Why not? I don't know. Maybe. Perhaps. No."

Wow, what a bunch of haters. This lady did the best she could with a show that had horrible writing, bad production, and a co-host who was dead on arrival. What is wrong with a person or a celebrity having a personality ? Do you want her to be dull and not contribute to an interview ? This lady is classy, she didn't blame the writers, producers, nor her James Franco for that lousy Oscar show. Sophie, Anne Hathaway is a triple threat talent, that will be around for a long time. I can't say that about most of the young performers today.

Why is she turning herself into such a "personality"? Does she want her own talk show? I don't see her as Catwoman AT ALL. I hope the Batman three-quel turns her character into a TV personality or something because that's all I see her as.

Bring on the bawdy broads: Bette Midler, Joan Rivers and Sarah Silverman...these gals will rip you to shreds!

The producers tried to fit in Franco & Hathaway for a tryout on the youth movement with their promo, but the experiment failed to be translated on stage along with mostly stale humor. Maybe ABC should stick to any veteran actor(s)/comedian(s) to host the show seriously (oxymoron intended).

Really, she was not good. Her "woo-wooing" over the applause after she introduced someone, anyone, was embarrassing junior high stuff.
I am amazed they have not given Stephen Colbert a call. He's even been in some films. He would kill. I would give him carte blanche and instruct him not to let even one brief intro go unfunny.
If they let him on once, he'd break Bob Hope's record for appearances. And maybe double the ratings.
Does the Academy possess the brain function to try this?
