The 11th season of ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’ had a fairy tale finale last night as Brad Womak dropped to one knee and told Emily Maynard, ‘You’re it. You’re my once in a lifetime.’ Then he asked her to marry him and Maynard beamed, ‘Yes!’

The Bachelor’ has been a steady hit ever since it debuted on TV in 2002, averaging about 10 million viewers. But ‘The Bachelor’ has never been nominated for best reality/competition TV show at the Emmys, which created the category in 2003. That’s shocking considering that nearly all of the other shows that pioneered the recent trend in reality TV have made the cut, including ‘Survivor,’ ‘American Idol,’ ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘The Amazing Race.’ ‘The Bachelor’s’ emcee also has been slapped by Emmy. Chris Harrison has never been nominated for best reality host.
