Can Elton John earn his EGOT with help from 'Saturday Night Live'?
Elton John is the host and musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, and the gig could pay off big time for the new dad, who was last on the show in 1982.
John is one step away from acquiring EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) status, and "SNL" could help add that missing Emmy to his trophy case. He could aim for an outstanding guest Emmy like Tina Fey, Betty White and Justin Timberlake, but John might up his chances and write an original song too. Remember when Timberlake won his original music and lyrics Emmy for "Dick in a Box"?
But, John's not the only star close to earning that coveted awards grand slam. Kate Winslet recently premiered her new HBO series "Mildred Pierce," and Robin Williams is starring in the Broadway show "Bengal Tiger at the Bagdhad Zoo," making them both serious contenders to join the 10 existing EGOT holders. Be sure to check out our gallery above of EGOTs on deck for more on John's stiffest competition.
