Spirit Awards: ‘Black Swan’ wins best feature

“Black Swan” won the Film Independent Spirit Awards’ top honor Saturday afternoon, when it was named best feature. Director Darren Aronofsky’s thriller, starring Natalie Portman as a ballerina descending into madness, is also competing at Sunday’s 83rd Academy Awards in the best picture race. Aronofsky and Portman also won prizes for directing and lead female, respectively, and Matthew Libatique was recognized for his cinematography.
