‘Recovery’ by Eminem
Eminem’s “Recovery” was awarded the rap album trophy at the 53rd Grammy Awards on Sunday night. The Detroit native dominated his peers with 10 nominations this year. “Recovery,” Em’s seventh album, bested critically acclaimed debuts from Drake (“Thank Me Later”) and B.o.B. (“The Adventures of Bobby Ray”) and offerings from seasoned vets Jay-Z (“The Blueprint 3”) and The Roots (“How I Got Over”).
“Recovery” features the Rihanna-assisted track “Love the Way You Lie,” one of the biggest singles of 2010. The track went No. 1 in 25 countries and was nominated for both record and song of the year. Eminem has received 36 Grammy nods in his 16-year career, including three for album of the year. He previously lost out to Steely Dan and Norah Jones in that category.
