Grammy Awards: Miranda Lambert wins female country vocal performance
Miranda Lambert, the saucy country singer who first collared listeners in 2006 with her fiery debut single, “Kerosene,” has won the Grammy Award for female country vocal performance for “The House That Built Me.” The contemplative track is from “Revolution,” her third studio album that has sold more than 1.1 million copies since its September 2009 release.
“The House That Built Me” was up against efforts from Jewel, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson. Lambert also snagged a Grammy nomination for record of the year.
The Grammys recognize outstanding work produced between Sept. 1, 2009, and Sept. 30, 2010. The awards — which are considered the highest honor in the music world — are being presented at Staples Center and telecast on CBS. We'll carry all the breaking news and headlines here on Awards Tracker.

Please all you Miranda haters! Have you even heard her album? If not, get it and compare it to the commercial pop of both Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellum. Miranda IS what country music should be all about. Yes, Carrie can sing but from her over the top performances to her princess ballgowns, she is a commercially manufactured artist. I would love to see her strip it down and stop worrying about number one's. As for Leann...her reaction told the story of an embittered entertainer who thought she could steal someone else's husband and her fans wouldn't care. Both Miranda and Carrie are so far above her. She peaked at 15.

WHAT THE------I have never heard of her and after her performance I know I don't want to hear from her again. I know country music has better----THEY HAVE CARRIE UNDERWOOD---who is amazing. I am a rock/pop fan and we like and respect Underwood---and we know she can sing her a--- off and should have been the one getting that award. Yes we have heard that Underwood was screwed over by her record label by promoting Lambert because Lambert needed the boost and Underwood did not need it. WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL!!!!! Underwood had a great year and should have been nominated for many awards NOT Lambert . WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RULES THAT YOU HAD TO EARN AWARDS????? Just sayin--------

This catergory is one of the toughest to win because Country Artists know how to deliver a song. Each one of the ladies in their own right deserve a win for their work. The fact that Miranda Lambert won over Grammy Academy voters truly shows how great of a song "The House That Built Me" was. Congratulations on a well deserved win and nomination for everyone in the catergory.

I'm sooo happy for Miranda Lambert. What a true artist. I'm so happy their is a woman like her representing us females. Her voice is beautiful. So easy to listen to then carries screaming voice. Miranda is a real artist. I'm so proud of her. Carrie is so unoriginal. BORING. Love you Miranda.

It's not a surprise to see Miranda won...because her label was pushing her so much even asking for award given on live show when the category was supposed to be given on pre-telecast...Whatever, they will run out of money very soon, as you can see Miranda singles recently hardly reach top...so you probably wont see her face next year...maybe still a female country nod, but she will not win..

love miranda, but vocally she blows her out of the water, but if someone is going to win besides carrie, i prefer someone with talent to take the award, as long as its not that horrible so called singer who sings off-key in country music...whats her name oh yeah taylor fake swift...then im happy! congrats mranda!

Carrie Underwood should have won. Miranda Lambert, as much as I LOVE her, pales in comparision to Carrie. I, personally, find Temporary Home a much better song and vocals-wise, Carrie's was flawless.
