Barbra Streisand to perform at Grammys, Kris Kristofferson to introduce her
It's going to be a busy week for Babs. Barbra Streisand, who will be saluted at the 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony Friday night at Staples Center, will return to the stage Sunday to perform at the Grammy Awards ceremony. The eight-time Grammy winner and current nominee will be introduced by another singer-turned-actor, Kris Kristofferson, winner of three Grammys.
Streisand, who recently spoke with the Los Angeles Times' Susan King ("MusiCares to honor Barbra Streisand Friday"), wasn't offering many hints as to what she'll be performing either on the telecast or during the MusiCares event:
"I am singing and talking for about 12 to 15 minutes," she said over the phone from her Malibu home, which she wrote about in her bestselling coffee-table book, "My Passion for Design." A portion of the book's proceeds go to the Barbra Streisand Women's Cardiovascular Research and Education program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
But that is all she will reveal about her appearance. "I want it to be a surprise!"

Finally, you are honoring the best female singer in the world. There is only one voice, and that is Barbra's Voice. Congratulations to Barbra, I have been listening and attending your concerts since 1966. You are a icon of music and film. A real class act.

Can't wait! Whatever she sings will be just fine. Just her being there is a thrill!

Oh my gosh, Barbra is receiving another award that she so very much deserves. As a loyal fan since 1965, I cannot see enough of her...I support her causes especially the cardiovascular issues in women. It's such a complex disease in women and she is giving it a voice. She excels in giving a voice to causes that go silent. I have purchased several of her design books and the book is absolutely fabulous- I would love seeing the home in its real setting on the bluff overlooking the ocean. Bee you are amazing. I will be watching.

Hmmmmm, Kristofferson introducing her? Could she be singing "Evergreen", perhaps? Could this perhaps have something to do with the Beyoncé remake of "A Star Is Born", by the same producers as Streisand's 1976 remake (whether Clint Eastwood directs or not)?

Barbra sang "I'm The Greatest Star" back in 1964. And now, 47 years later, she proves it yes again How fortunate we are that this amazing lady keeps giving and giving and giving.
BRAVO to you, Mrs. Brolin !!!
