SAG Awards: 'Modern Family' wins for outstanding comedy ensemble
The cast of "Modern Family" won the Screen Actors Guild Award on Sunday for outstanding performance by an emsemble in a comedy series.
It's SAG's biggest prize for a comedy series — effectively crowning it the funniest cast of characters on TV. It was competing in this category against "30 Rock," "Glee," "Hot in Cleveland" and "The Office." It's the second nomination but first win for the cast of the show about a wonderfully dysfunctional family.
The awards — which dole out honors in both TV and film — are being held at the Shrine Exhibition Hall and telecast live simultaneously on TNT and TBS. A win in the feature film categories is especially coveted: It can be a precurser to Oscar gold. We'll carry all the breaking news and headlines here on Awards Tracker.
