The Grammy Awards announced Thursday the first batch of nominated artists who will be performing during the 53rd annual ceremony, to take place on Feb. 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Among the roster of six acts are two playing on the big stage for the first time, Quebecois rock band Arcade Fire and Texas country singer Miranda Lambert; the other four will return to showcase their musically successful years: Eminem, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Cee Lo Green.

It’s a varied roster that covers the pop music gamut: rock, country, hip-hop, pop and R&B. Too, fashionistas and fans of the absurd will no doubt be anticipating the visual aspect of the proceedings. Neither Lady Gaga or Katy Perry are exactly known for their artistic subtlety, and Green, recall, performed his breakout hit as half of Gnarls Barkley, ‘Crazy,’ dressed as an airline pilot.
