More Screen Actors Guild news:
SAG nominations continue trend

Some strange twists here: "Up in the Air" and "Invictus" each got ALL their expected acting noms, but were both shut out of ensemble. (Ironically, they may find themselves beneficiaries of the expansion to 10, along with "Up" which sat out today for obvious reasons.) OTOH, "Nine" got in for ensemble, but only Penelope Cruz individually; with Christoph Waltz, Diane Kruger & the ensemble in but Brad Pitt out, "Inglourious Basterds" did a little bit better.
The one big contender that got exactly what it wanted was "Precious": Gabby, Mo'Nique and the ensemble are all in. Thus, I'd say it's VERY good news for that movie, especially with "Up in the Air" out of the ensemble race; the only other movies there with a chance of beating it are "The Hurt Locker" and "Inglourious Basterds". Mo'Nique probably won't have to campaign; unless Kruger comes on strong, she's certain to win. (Or unless Cruz gets the SAG as consolation for losing to Kate Winslet last year, but then Mo'Nique still gets the Oscar.) Gabby's win will be a bit tougher, as she's up against Sandra Bullock as well as Carey Mulligan & Meryl Streep.

Y'all seriously nominated the cast of True Blood for Best Acting Ensemble? Good lord.

I can't believe they're still going to the usual suspects for Television nominations. Glee and Criminal Minds have done some outstanding work and should have had ensemble nominations in their respective categories.
