Three films added to 2010 Sundance lineup
The latest features from a trio of Sundance Film Festival vets have been added to the lineup for its 2010 edition. The last-minute additions, which will screen out of competition, are "Bend It Like Beckham" writer-director Gurinder Chadha's "It's a Wonderful Afterlife," with Sally Hawkins and Jimi Mistry; "Laurel Canyon" filmmaker Lisa Cholodenko's "The Kids Are All Right," with Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Annette Bening; and "The Romantics," with Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, Malin Akerman and Elijah Wood, from "Grace Is Gone" and "Trucker" producer Galt Niederhoffer.
All three have screened films at Sundance in previous years; Chadha showed "Beckham," "What's Cooking," and her short "I'm British but..." while Cholodenko earned the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the '98 fest for "High Art" in addition to screening "Canyon." Niederhoffer won the 2007 Sundance Audience Award for "Grace," in addition to showing numerous productions there, including "Lonesome Jim," "Birds of America," and others.
The 2010 Sundance Film Festival runs from Jan. 21-31.
