Producers Guild announces TV series and nonfiction TV nominees

This afternoon, the Producers Guild of America announced its TV series and nonfiction TV nominations for the 2010 Producers Guild Awards.

Vying for the Danny Thomas Producer of the Year Award in Episodic  Television-Comedy are NBC’s “30 Rock,” Showtime’s “Californication,” HBO’s Entourage,” NBC’s “The Office” and Showtime’s “Weeds.”

Nominated for the Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television-Drama are AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” Showtime’s “Dexter,” ABC’s “Lost,” AMC’s “Mad Men” and HBO’s “True Blood.”

Competing for the Producer of the Year Award in Non-Fiction Television are CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” A&E TV’s “Intervention,” Bravo TV’s “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List” and Showtime’s “This American Life.”

The nominees for PGA Producer of the Year Award in Live Entertainment and Competition Television are CBS’ “The Amazing Race,” Fox’s “American Idol,” Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report,” Lifetime’s “Project Runway” and Bravo TV’s “Top Chef.”

The nominees for theatrical motion picture and long-form television categories will be announced Jan. 5. The honors will be presented at the PGA Awards ceremony on Jan. 24 at the Hollywood Palladium.
