More films picked up at Toronto Film Festival

Monday night's purchase of "A Single Man" by The Weinstein Co. seems to have broken the ice for film pickups at The Toronto International Film Festival. Two additional deals have been announced in its wake -- IFC has acquired "Valhalla Rising," the dark fantasy-adventure from Danish director Nicholas Winding Refn, while Evokative Films has the Canadian rights to Ole Bornedal's thriller "Deliver Us from Evil." The latter film, also from Denmark, is the first Scandinavian pickup for the Montreal-based Evokative, which has previously concentrated on Asian titles.
