Comedy Central to revive American Comedy Awards

Comedy Central has announced that it will revive the American Comedy Awards. The awards show was last broadcast in 2001, when this picture of George Carlin (receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award from the show) was taken, but will return sometime next year under the auspices of the network and longtime awards show producer Don Mischer.

The revamped series will pay tribute to the best in comedy in films, television and on the Internet, and will broadcast on Comedy Central and its corporate partners, Spike TV and TV Land. But will it be funny?
