At long last: The premiere of the music video for Kris Allen's "Live Like We're Dying," the first single for his self-titled debut album, out Nov. 17.
Allen tells PopEater.com that the video was shot overnight in the Los Angeles desert. "The idea behind it is ... I plug in the clock and it starts counting down to zero and there's performance stuff in there. I'm playing the guitar and playing the piano and singing too. In the end when it hits zero, it's kind of like the song, it's like we only have so much time so we gotta do what we want to do."
What do you think? Sound off below.

The title is a blatant ripoff from Tim McGraw. I like Kris, but I agree....yawwwwwn.

This is probably the best Idol music video I've ever seen. It looks like they put a lot of money into it and it isn't cheesy or anything!
Love Kris Allen. Is it November 17th yet?

This confirms my reaction to last season's "Idol" results show: with Adam Lambert delivering such a huge range of startling, inventive, and ultimately delicious flavors in his musical offerings, why on earth would anyone opt for the soothing bland comfort of Kris Allen's vanilla?

I love this video! It's everything I wanted it to be!
It's very edgy and has a beautiful organic feel to it!
And of course, you can't miss the emotion and passion Kris displays!
Definitely one of my favorite Idol videos of all time!

I LOVE the video!! Kris Allen is amazing! :)
It's so Kris, and that's exactly why I love it! I never get tired of this song!
And just FYI to the people who think this is a Tim McGraw rip-off, it's actually written by the British pop-rock band The Script, just to clear things up!

Pretty legit video. No cheese from an idol for once! Kris doesn't need guyliner, feathers, boots, or something controversial to make him likable. He is what he is: simply a music artist.

It's hilarious that people are judging a title and calling it a rip-off from Tim McGraw. Really? We're nitpicking titles now? Let's see, I guess we can call the band Incubus's song "Drive" a title rip-off from R.E.M. song with a similar title? Or what about Adam Lambert's "Fever" a title rip-off too, huh? And man, it's too bad Sarah McLachlan had to rip-off "Angel" from Pearl Jam, Aretha Franklin and Jimi Hendrix. It TOTALLY takes away from her credibility!
Cottage Industry: you're so full of it.
This video is cool. It's got a nice concept, looks lush and expensive, and Kris looks great performing in it. Best American Idol winner video I've seen so far.

I already love the song very much - I think this is an excellent, strong music video debut from Kris as well. Kris, Marco Puig and the video crew should be proud of themselves. I'm looking forward to being able to purchase it for my iPod!

Such a great music video. I absolutely loved it. Also, it doesn't hurt to say that Kris Allen is frickin' gorgeous. Anyways, I loved the concept & the symbolic meanings. The huge digital clock was interesting & cool; I liked it. Best Idol music video ever. No doubt. Also, it's only the beginning for Kris ;)

I love this video! It is very well-made! Kris looks great, as usual, and the make-up and wardrobe department did an excellent job (especially with dressing Kris in that form-fitting Henley! He looks gorgeous!). I think that it's one of the better-produced Idol videos. For a song with such inspirational meaning, it would have been too easy to botch the video up and churn out a cheesy product. But Kris had a clear view of what he wanted the video to be and I'm glad he put his foot down. I'm glad the video showcases Kris as a singer, a guitarist and a pianist. It is important to Kris that he is viewed not just as a singer, but as a musician and as an artist. That final shot with him looking out at the sunrise is gorgeous! Well done, Kris and Marco Puig!

I was having an argument with a family member a couple days ago and when I was on my way to work in the morning I turned the radio on and this song came up and I am telling you I was in tears. The lyrics to this song is remarkable. Kris Allen's voice delivers and to make a long story short everything's fine now in my life. Thank you Kris Allen for breaking through to this stubborn gal.

Wow, this is the best idol video every. No cheesy stuff, just Kris 4 real! I give the director kudos for really plugging into what Kris is about--a true artist! I give the label credit for putting the cash behind this video. Kris doing a great job at being Kris!

To correct a few people here...Adam did not have a music vid for his music yet....it was for the Movie only....so can't compare like you usually like to do...But, This is the WORST music video ever...its ashame....

I love it! I already liked the "Live Like We're Dying" single, but the video not only brings the song to life, it does an exceptional job of showcasing Kris Allen's many talents. It's exciting, fast paced, and intriguing. Great job!
