Listen to the entire song in the clip above (no video, just sound) and let us know what you think below. Just in time for the holidays? Or sentimental dreck?

Fantastic!
Danny is certainly sticking to his vow that he will mix music with his message. He is big on individuals doing what they can to help their fellow man, and this song fits the bill perfectly. Lady Antebellum wrote the perfect song for him. And BTW, great melody and pristine vocals! I don't listen to CCM or gospel or Country, but find this inspirational and not too religious.
Good job Danny.

Gokey sings like an angel.
Pure win.

What an awesome song. So happy that Danny has this out.

The sentiment is nice, but the song is one of those "I lost my dog and my truck and my wife" things which people used to make fun of country singers for recording. I suppose, with the whole country feeling the economic heat which used to be reserved for the Deep South, that there will be much more of this sort of music this year and next.

Loved Danny from the minute I saw him on Idol. Appreciate his wanting to come out with a song for the times. But if you're going to try to be effective on the social tip like the songs in the '60's were, then you have to come with something more cutting edge than this by-the-numbers- production. What's the point in trying to say something different if it's going to sound the same as everything else out there? C'mon Danny. You can do better.

I'm not so crazy about the beginning but further into the song, it's classic Danny and I love it. I think it'll do well for Danny but I'd like to see him mix it up a bit more for his album. Danny has got the talent, I just hope his people do good by him.

I found this song to be AMAZING! Great vocal display for Danny, it's produced by Mark Bright, and I believe Danny has the support behind him to be the next Carrie Underwood. Very talented, very heartfelt, very soulful. I believe this song is the best debut single of all of the idols from Season 8!
Danny has a powerful voice and wanted to mix his music with a message. He has done that and also gets to show off his talented vocals. Can't wait to hear the entire album!
Don't forgot folks, Country Music outsells all of the other genres combined. It is a strong force in the music industry!

Danny's vocals are nice, but the song is dreck. A song of this type that is supposed to tug at the heartstrings can be well written, this one isn't.

I love it!! This is a perfect song for him!

Typical country dreck. A sappy overwrought ballad. The wrong person won Idol for sure. He *can* sing though, and I am sure the masses will buy this junk but too bad he doesn't do something more interesting with his voice.

Not at all liking the song, but Danny's voice sounds really pretty. Reminds me of Lional Richie. I would guess his real audience is going to be gospel since he loves to preach. I think to do country well he would need to work on getting a better country accent and/or twang.

Eh. Not great. He sings well, but the song is just so poorly written.

I have listened to this song over and over again, it's beautiful. It is a grower!
Love, love it!

Love the song!

This is a very beautiful song. I love country music, but it's rare that male country artists have the kind of vocal ability to handle a song with this much range and power, yet emotional sensitivity.
Can't wait to see video of Danny doing this live somewhere soon. Will definitely buy it when it comes up soon on iTunes, and look forward to hearing the rest of Danny's album soon.
