Trojans jump BYU in AP

On a weekend when no teams ranked above USC took a tumble, the Trojans still made progress by leapfrogging Brigham Young in the Associated Press poll.

USC is now eighth in the media ranking and remains at ninth in the USA Today coaches poll. The Trojans are the only team in the top 20 with just three wins, but they have played fewer games than many teams at this point in the season.

Oregon, after getting hammered by the Trojans, dropped out of the Top 25 in both polls. The only other ranked Pac-10 team is Cal, sitting at 25th in the coaches poll.
