Trojans in the Orange Bowl
USC has played in the Orange Bowl only twice, but its dominating wins continue to leave a lasting impression on the history of the event.
The Orange Bowl is celebrating its 75th anniversary this season with two big showdowns ... the Orange Bowl Game itself, then the BCS National Championship Game a week later.
As part of the festivities, a 75th anniversary team will be announced. Voting is open to the public and you can participate by clicking here. Several USC players are nominated, including Troy Polamalu (who played in 2003) and seven Trojans from the 2005 game:
- Matt Leinart
- LenDale White
- Steve Smith
- Dominique Byrd
- Lofa Tatupu
- Ryan Killeen
- Pete Carroll
The website also lets you enter into a free raffle to win two tickets to January's Orange Bowl.
Speaking of football in South Florida, I'm in Key West at the moment ... anybody know of a good place to watch today's games?

Adam --Tell me you're old enough to remember and see the irony in Polamalu being nominated for that list...
Troy barely played in the 2003 OB because of injury, I remember because I felt bad for the guy (I actually thought he didn't play, but apparently he got in for 2 plays with no tackles)
It was a anticlimactic end to a great career --even Sunny Byrd got his final TD in that game.
On a side note: it would be awesome if you could give us an update on the surprise player of Pete's first year: where is Sunny Byrd now? (I was at the ASU game where he came off the bench to lead the Trojans to victory after everyone else was injured)

Yes, you can watch the USC games at justin.tv no matter where you're located. Even overseas.

You mean the 2004 game. The 2005 game was the BCS game in the Rose Bowl against Texas.
