Fili Flies High
A belated congrats to USC defensive tackle Fili Moala, who was named Pac-10 special teams player of the week after blocking a pair of Arizona State field goal attempts on Saturday. Both plays happened in one quarter (tying a league record) to preserve the Trojans' shutout of the Sun Devils.
One of the blocked kicks is pictured above -- you can see the ball just below the Olympic torch -- and you can see Moala celebrating the second block in the picture on the right.
This is the fifth time this season that a Trojan has been named Pac-10 player of the week, and first time this season somebody has done it for USC on special teams.
