Monday Hot Links
I hope everybody had a great Fourth. This has absolutely nothing to do with college sports, but I would be remiss if I didn't give a nod to Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. I don't watch a lot of tennis, but made up for it this weekend by watching their Wimbledon championship match marathon. That's the kind of rivalry that makes sports great.
Anyway, back to the grindstone! Here are the stories you might have missed over the holiday weekend ...
Football
- Why are quarterbacks committing so early? Matt Barkley and others give their reasons. [ESPN]
Hoops
- Dwayne Polee Jr. is still a firm commitment. [SI]
- DeMar DeRozan is also still a firm commitment, but will he qualify? [Fox Sports]
- Gabe Pruitt is hoping to step it up this offseason in Boston. [Patriot Ledger]
Elsewhere
- Ranking the top football+basketball+baseball programs in America since 1974, USC comes in seventh. [Rivals]
- Bye-bye, Bozo. Former Trojan, clown was 83. [AP]
- Yes, Auburn did get 2004 national championship rings. [Da Wiz]

T'was a salesman sample ring, not a real player's championship ring.
