Trading Places

People on the East Coast are picking up their newspapers to read about O.J. Mayo playing for Minnesota and Kevin Love playing for Memphis.

Whoops.

The two Southland sensations apparently have been traded for each other, along with a whole mess of other players.

I hesitate to call this late-night deal a "blockbuster," as some have labeled it. After all, the two biggest names involved have played a total of 0 minutes in the NBA. They combine for a whopping two seasons of college ball. Still, the move looks pretty good for both teams and gives both sides something to build upon.

Well, the trade clearly wasn't a calculated move, because otherwise why would the T-Wolves take a 6'-11" Serbian center at their second pick (#31). My bet is that someone refused to sign w/ them and forced a trade. The T-Wolves were lucky to pull it off, even tho' it leaves them w/ 2 rookie centers.

Nice, I think Memphis has a chance to be competitive sooner than the T'Wolves. And, OJ will really be able to showcase his skills and be the face of the team there. Also, nice place to live, especially compared to the great white north. Good luck, OJ.

Kevin Love will never make it in the NBA bottom line!!! OJ has the set up to be a franchise player and the face of an up and coming organization. With Gasol Jr. joining the party, Rudy Gay and Mayo have the makings of becoming Memphis's BIG 3. I like Mayo over Love aka "Big Country part 2". See you in the Euroleage Love, your weak slow motion wannabe Kevin Mchale up and unders are gonna find its way into the stands not the hoop once you face up against a real NBA powerforward like Boozer or Brand. Mayo has the makings of being the next D Wade/Arenas with his deep range and combo guard skills. Rookie of the Year = OJ Mayo!
