Why is it there was no discussion of the men Ms. Ashcraft had sex with (among whom would be the babies' fathers)? Did the prosecution investigate them? Maybe they could shed light on Ashcraft's frame of mind during the pregnancies. Maybe they influenced and/or participated in her decision regarding the fetuses.
