Indication That Jefferson Is Leaving

I was waiting on the NBA to release the official list of players declaring for the NBA draft before posting the final departures here, but the league just said the list won't come out until Thursday or Friday.

It seems pretty obvious how this will shake out, especially after this story about the NBA readying Davon Jefferson's bio.

Too Bad, while he may grow into a great NBA player it is not a guarantee. Remember Cliff Robinson. Potentially great college player jumps early to NBA only to be lost in the mix. Unfortunately, Jefferson may end up in the same place--nowhere. So, he would benefit by at least one if not two more years of colllege ball. Besides, a good college education would help him and it will be most difficult to achieve should he launch off into professional basketball--in Eurpore! He could learn something from Taj Gibson if the story about Jefferson is true.

While it's a humongous loss to USC... Jefferson had a really hard time toughing through school. I mean he's a 21-year-old freshman! I actually think he made the best personal choice -- he used USC as a springboard into the pro league while helping the school have a great season.

Bonnie I agree he is not really book smart or do I think he wants to be, I wish we had more Dewayne Coopers out there, I hope i spell his name right. When I lived in LV I ran into him at my sports club and we held the court all night, guys didn't know who he was it was great.

Adam Rose learned about the highs and lows of USC athletics while going to school. As a freshman, he watched the football team crash to the bottom of the Pac 10. By the time he was a senior, he was in the stands for a National Championship. In between, he liked to argue points as a member of the Trojan Debate Squad. Nowadays, he's just looking to tell a good story. He is currently Sports Editor for LAist, where he covers a wide range of local action. He can also be seen weekly on KNBC 4's News Raw. Adam manages special events in the sports community when he isn't participating himself (he staggered through the LA Marathon and can often be found on local soccer fields).
