Trojan Recruit Arrested
2008 recruit Maurice Simmons of Compton Dominquez High School was arrested on robbery charges -- not to be confused with younger brother Marquis (class of 2009). Maurice had signed a letter of intent with USC but was not enrolled.
There are actually several Simmons brothers who play (or played) football, including former Trojan Melvin Simmons (a starter for USC in 2002 and 2003). Another brother, Marvin, played at Kansas State. All four are/were linebackers. There were three other Simmons brothers and 11 total siblings as of 2003.
