Pack a Jacket
Brett Favre announced his retirement today, and Aaron Rodgers is the heir apparent in Green Bay. Why does that matter down in sunny Southern California? Here's what ESPN Director of Scouting Todd McShay said when asked about the Packers using a vet or draftee as their new backup:
I think from the young guy standpoint, the nice part is it's not a great class of quarterbacks in terms of the top, but there are a lot of good mid-level quarterbacks (2nd to the 4th round), guys that may fit what they're trying to do. John David Booty from USC -- he has played in a pro-style system, specifically the West Coast offense, and understands what it takes. I think that John David Booty would be a perfect fit in that third-round range.
