USC causes major headaches for UCLA ...
... and we're not talking about falling in the rankings (8th in the AP, 7th in the ESPN/USA Today poll ... USC jumped to 33 and 31, respectively). Two Bruins, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Lorenzo Mata-Real, suffered concussions in the first half against the Trojans this weekend. Here's how one of them happened. Also on YouTube:
- Davon Jefferson dunks over Kevin Love in the closing seconds.
- AP report with voiceover and slideshow.
- Still no sign of a video from the scuffle at the end of the women's basketball game.

Are you really serious about this latest blog entry or are you just joking around. Two players receiving concussions is actually no laughing matter. The plays did not seem dirty but they did result in injury. Making fun of the rival is one thing but to post something like this, does question class or at least judgement. Both players in fact did not come back in the second half which led to a depleted team. Concussions are serious so why not show some respect. SC finally played really good and up to their potential. Was it an upset, not really, SC is better then their current record and will compete for the PAC 10 if they dont lose too many more conference games, plus they will be tough to beat in the conference tournament. I expect them to go far in the big dance as well as long as they play the way they did on saturday. I read what happened at the end of the womens basketball game and to be quite honest, just get over it. Those ugly scenes should not be dwelled upon. If that is all you are looking for then perhaps it is time for the LATiimes to question whether to continue your postings. This goes for all athletes and fans, show some respect and you might actually get respect in return. Everyone should just show some class and dignity both on and off the court. Is that too much to ask for?

The headline on this post was certainly tongue-in-cheek, but not intended to mock the players or their injuries. It was just a colorful way of describing the events and encourage people to see the video. I agree that the injuries depleted the Bruins, and the whole idea of posting clips like these is to show how rough sports can be and how serious these things are. As you can see from the link I included to Rich's blog, the condition of both players is improving. Concussions are serious (been there, done that), and I wouldn't have posted anything like this if I wasn't optimistic about their recovery.
I wasn't able to verify, but I did hear from a reliable source that UCLA was favored by 11 points. I'd say that qualifies as an upset.

Adam this guy does have a point and i don't feel that you were trying to mock anyone. It is an upset because of two reasons; one they where a higher ranking team, two they were playing at paully and we never really play well there i think the last time was the Clancy, saclbrine, era
Go Trojans
way to play team bb
