The true MVP is the entire defensive unit. Week in and week out, they kept USC in the game, no matter how abysmal the offense was performing. This has been the case for many seasons under Pete Carroll, as evidenced by the 7 points or less margin of defeat for every loss during the last few seasons. While everyone else was envying the talent collection in the offensive backfield, Carroll made sure to take care of business on the defensive side. Thank you, Pete, for restoring another proud tradition at USC: great defense.
