USC Hoops Signs (Hollywood) Star

Romeo There's a USC basketball player on the front of TMZ, but this time it has nothing to do with Matt Leinart baby-mamma drama.

Percy Miller, better known as rapper Romeo (best known as rapper Lil' Romeo), officially signed to play hoops for USC next year. The Beverly Hills High point guard is listed at anywhere from 5'10" to 6'1". His father, rap mogul Master P, signed with two different NBA teams in the '90s but never played a regular season game. Dad may not be a welcome guest at all away games. Master P was arrested at UCLA a couple of years ago.

The bigger news was actually the signing of local prep hoops star DeMar DeRozan, who announced with Miller. The 6'6" small forward from Compton High is considered one of the best incoming players in the nation.

Just like any other high school kids, they made their announcement at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills with plenty of media on hand. Explaining why he didn't just rest on the laurels of his family's music empire, 18-year-old Miller remarked, "The whole educational thing, I like to teach that to the kids."

He went on to add, "Knowledge is wealthier than money."

This kid is not a D1 player. I can't beleive Floyd would give two schoolarships for just one player. What a disgrace.. This reminds me of what Ohio State did in order to obtain committment from Etiene Sabino but his friend can actually play a little bit.

Watching the video thatAdam provided shows that this kid can pass and shot, i don't know about his defense but for sure he will learn that at usc. If you make your whole team around HS allstars than they will either transfer out or leave early.

This is a cool web..But need's more!

lol

Thank You, Jade (-:

romeo is sick i dont care if he was a one or no star all- american jet got game. my friend played himan a aau game and romeo dropped 33 him and demar will be the two top players on that team just watch

it doesn't matter if you are a HS all american but do you have the want to be the best. Remmember this kid could go to any school and walk on. You will see Mr. Miller will give usc all he has and will be as good as he can be.

I think it's great that Romeo is using different avenues to build up his career instead of just rapping. It's time for our hip-hop community to show the world that there's more important things than jus a mic and a stage. Education is the only thing you can fall back on at the end of the day when your music career is over and the fans aren't "feeling" you anymore. Romeo is doing something amazing but he doesn't get the same exposure as the rappers who do nothing but talk about money and women. I'm proud of him. Keep doing what your doing and big ups to your dad for motivating you.
