T.J. Simers Found Alive and Well in Nebraska
L.A. Times columnist T.J. Simers rode the welcome wagon tractor in Nebraska, accepting some Midwest hospitality in response to a column written ahead of his trip to watch USC take on the Cornhuskers. He was very, well, T.J. Simers.
Dana Parsons cracked yesterday that Simers is the paper's "chief diplomatic correspondent." We figured he could draw Nebraska's attention, but would he also draw their ire? That's affirmative, horse rider.
There's another video of T.J. in Norfolk and on a farm to come, but I really can't wait to hear what happens when he goes to a toga party and stays overnight in a frat house on Friday. We already know that he's outspoken. Imagine what he might say after a couple rounds of beer pong.

I though I was going to hurl my cookies. Could you get T.J. to stop wearing USC shirts in those pictures in Nebraska? Nebraskans might get the impression that he is a fan of USC. The only thing he is a fan of is saying anything that will get printed.
It is a free country and he can go where he wants but I hope Nebraska realizes what most people in Southern California think of "Shallow Simer"

As a Trojan and native born Californian, it is embarrassing and insulting to see a guy associating himself with USC and acting like a jerk to Nebraskans.
TJ attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Il which had a 2000 census of 40,000 people. WHat is DeKalb's claim to fame? It is "Barb City", the place where Barb Wire (for agriculture) was invented.
TJ obviously has some resentment left from his college years.
Give me a break!

I read some of his posts earlier, and was quite amused, and then decided to read what he had to say after the game...now I am very amused. I currently have an e-mail started to him...against my own judgment as I am giving the attention he apparently so desperately needs..but couldn't help it....Love the fact that people from the state he calls "home"..can't stand him as well. Unfortunately he portrayed us exactly the way he wanted to...which to my understanding we were totally aware he was going to do this. It brings me pride to know what we knew an a-hole like him was coming here, and still offered to show him around and see what it's like, along with our “western hospitality” unfortunately he only showed what he wanted, and apparently had to visit the most rural towns in our state. I’d like to show him some “western hospitality”….and love the “Shallow Simer”
