Frugal Fashion: "Bad Teacher" Cameron Diaz rocks a summer romper

CameronIt's hard to imagine actress Cameron Diaz in anything but a snow white bikini, gripping a surfboard as a Charlie's Angel on the beach. Sure it was for a film, but Diaz is famous for wearing clothing that accentuates her best assets, both on and off the set. At nearly every major appearance, Diaz is sure to be in a look that gives more than a peek at her killer legs and super-hero toned arms.

The 39-year-old has been busy promoting her new film "Bad Teacher," which hits theaters June 24, starring opposite Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake.

At a photo call for the film in Madrid, Diaz showed off her signature legs, looking summer-ready in a crisp white Equipment romper, fiery red belt and pink tweed blazer by Elizabeth and James. She accessorized with a navy and gold braided necklace by Giles & Brother and strappy heels by Sergio Rossi.

Diaz' romper could actually be the most versatile summer closet staple. Wear it over a bathing suit by the pool or go effortlessly glam like Diaz with the right accessories. With so many colors, patterns and styles available it might be hard to narrow it down to just one, but a plain white version is always a good investment. For a sleeveless style go for the Planet Gold romper from Macys.com for $14.99. For something a little more casual try the Sparkle and Fade Dolphin short romper from Urbanoutfitters.com for $59 or the Roxy Rollick romper from Roxy.com for $39.50. If you're looking for a little more detail the Asos linen bandeau pleated short playsuit features a flirty bow detail for $60.34.

The best part of Diaz's outfit is definitely her belt. The color screams "look at me" and it gets ample attention against the white romper. For a similar effect get the Pieces Lisbeth slim jeans belt for $12.07 from Asos.com or the Unisex solid web belt with leather buckle from American Apparel for $30. To go for Cameron's chunky belt look get the Wide quilted belt from Armani Exchange for $58.

It's always nice to have a light jacket for when those warm summer days turn into heavenly nights. The Asos soft draped suit blazer in fuchsia for $86.20 will keep you warm and add a nice pop of color. For something a little redder, snag the Carmine blazer from Anthropologie.com for $98 or the P.M.E. blazer in houndstooth red and white from Yoox.com for $160.

Wear your new romper with anything from a pair of strappy sandals to your highest heels.

Frugal Fashion: Material Girl Kelly Osbourne shows her spots at Coachella

Kelly Every spring, when the hot desert sun sets in Indio and the sounds of the Coachella music festival dance through the air over eager, buzzing fans I can't help but wonder one thing: What are they all wearing?

As our fashion critic Booth Moore put it in a recent article, "never mind the music." OK, of course Coachella is about the music; it's a music festival after all, but Moore couldn't be more right. The bikinis, cut-off shorts, tanks and fringe that have become festival staples hardly make a de rigueur dress code, but year after year the fashion industry takes notice of music industry big-wigs and the distinct Coachella style of their fans.

Kelly Osbourne was among the stylish festival attendees at the Empire Polo Club where the event was held. The 26-year-old former reality television star has some serious fashion chops as the co-host of E! channel's Fashion Police with Joan Rivers and the new face of Madonna's Material Girl clothing line. She wore a fun and flirty navy polka dot dress, gray and black loafers with socks and a floppy straw hat. Osbourne wears the classic print with a sense of modern glamour and her exposed socks give her look that signature Osbourne funky twist.

To get Osbourne's spotted Coachella look go for a polka dot dress like the pleat-front polka dot dress from Delia's for $39.50 or the polka dot strapless dress, also from Delia's, for $39.50. For more about how to wear the polka dot trend check out tips from our resident stylist Melissa Magsaysay here.

A large floppy hat is essential when you want to have your fun in the sun and keep your skin protected. Step out of the shade in the super versatile Merona wide brim floppy hat for $12.99 from Target.com, the Elona floppy hat from Alloy.com for $19.90, or the Kinda Shady hat with bead detail from Roxy.com for $28.

The polka dot dress and hat would look great with a strappy pair of sandals or heels but Osbourne's socks and loafers are ideal if you want to mix things up. For more of a menswear look try the LifeStride woman's arbor loafers for $24.99 at Famousfootwear.com. For a softer look with a bow, Piperlime.com carries the Ciao Bella Moxie loafers for $49, and for an updated penny loafer, DSW.com carries the Rocket Dog Malinda flat for $34.95.

Surf's Up: PacSun corrals SoCal's biggest action sports brands (and athletes) for a new campaign

Pacsun
Teen retailer PacSun is gathering all its friends for its new ad campaign -- a multimedia campaign that celebrates personal style.

"Dress Irresponsibly” features musicians, artists and some of action sports' most revered athletes -- including Rob Machado, Bucky Lasek, Chris Pfanner, Ryan Dungey, IamOMNI and Jeff McMillan -- wearing getups culled from 12 marquee action sports brands from Southern California. Think Hurley, RVCA, Fox Racing, Volcom, Quiksilver, Roxy, DC, O’Neill, Billabong and Element.

The print ads feature members of PacSun's dream team walking toward the camera, looking tough and purposeful. But capturing action sports athletes in their element requires motion, and director So Me wisely created an action-filled montage set to the Frank Sinatra classic, “Call Me Irresponsible,” for the TV spots.

“This ... campaign is a first for PacSun and for the action sports industry,” said Gary Schoenfeld, PacSun's chief executive. “The juxtaposition of 20 action sports athletes representing the best skate, surf and motocross brands, combined with the unsurpassed style of Frank Sinatra, speaks to the unique sense of style and individuality that is the cornerstone of action sports and our brand.”

Fans of PacSun's grungy gang can check out exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the campaign shoot on the company's Facebook page. And while there, you can upload a photo that shows off your unique personal style to vie for ongoing rewards both in-store and online.

After all, added Schoenfeld," 'Dress Irresponsibly' is about enjoying life, friends and embracing one’s own sense of style."

Cynthia Rowley collaborates with Roxy on a chic new surf collection

CR-Roxy - Picture 2[1] SoCal surf brand Roxy has teamed up with veteran New York designer Cynthia Rowley for a chic, surf-inspired collection launching in April that will be sold exclusively at Barneys New York in the U.S. and Colette in Paris.

The concept for Cynthia Rowley for Roxy was, fittingly, born on the beach — when avid surfer Rowley bumped into Randy Hild, Roxy's executive vice president of marketing, in Montauk, N.Y. Talk of a collaboration ensued.

“The most important thing as a designer is to tell a story," said Rowley, who spends her summer weekends on the beach with her family. “This is an authentic and genuine expression of my passion for the surf lifestyle.”

And the surf brand has committed to the collaboration for the long haul. The two companies will partner for a minimum of three years. “Our mission at Roxy has always been to have one foot in the surf world and the other foot in the fashion world,” Hild said in a press release. “Barney’s is a great common ground for both brands to bring that idea into reality. It’s amazing to see the New York and fashion community embrace the surf lifestyle and put a whole new style spin on it. ”
