Your Morning Fashion and Beauty Report: Lady Gaga on 'The View.' Michelle Obama meets Kate Middleton.

Two men escorted Lady Gaga to a seat on the couch on "The View" Monday, helping her negotiate the walk in her 12-inch platform shoes. Her mom watched from the audience -- and occasionally answered questions from the shows hosts. ("Mom, was she really born this way?" "Yes.") Lady G talked about fashion, hair color, nails and -- oh, her new album, of course! [The Cut] [The View]

Katherines Maria Shriver had at least one moment of joy last week when her daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger, 21, was honored at the Girl Power Awards luncheon for being an inspiration to young women.  As an undergrad at USC, Katherine wrote the book "Rock What You've Got: Secrets to Loving Your Inner and Outer Beauty From Someone Who's Been There and Back." She also works to raise money for Best Buddies, her uncle Anthony Shriver's organization for the developmentally disabled. The luncheon, at the Beverly Hills Hotel, was a fund-raiser for a Place Called Home, a nonprofit youth center in Los Angeles. [People]

Two women whose style we like to watch met Tuesday. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (née Kate Middleton), wore a neutral-toned bandage dress from retailer Reiss to meet Michelle Obama. The first lady, in London for a two-day visit along with her husband, wore a shimmering blue floral brocade "prom" dress by one of her favorite designers, Barbara Tfank, topped by a metallic pink silk bolero. V-Day shopping: Nordstrom helps you find your lingerie style

Betsey We never really gave our lingerie "style" much thought (does clean and rip-free count as a style?). But we understand that plenty of people take their lingerie much more seriously — especially around Valentine's Day.

And to help boost the sales of delicates this V-Day, Nordstrom is offering a fun little online quiz that will help you — or your significant other — discern lingerie looks that suit your personal style.

It's not scientific, but the multiple-choice quiz is a fun way to spend five minutes. An example of one of the finish-this-sentence questions: "My valentine just called. He's picking me up in an hour. I'm going to wear something...." And the choices are "ever-so-slightly revealing"; "supersoft and clingy"; and "fun, with a girlish edge."

Once you move through the quiz, you're shuffled into one of three styles: Seductive, Fun & Flirty and True Romantic, each of which link to pages of products the retailer deems compatible with your lingerie persona — though you can shop the other styles, too, with a  single click.

We fell into the "True Romantic" category (so true!), which took us to pages of lacy, detailed bra-and-panty sets from brands including Chantelle Intimates and Natori.

Perhaps this is the year we upgrade those cotton hipster undies to something a tad racier.

Los Feliz lingerie boutique Jenette Bras hosts a 'retail theater' event Thursday night

Marlies In need of a new bra? You could hit up Victoria's Secret (yawn) — or attend a unique event at independent lingerie boutique Jenette Bras on Thursday night.

The Los Feliz shop, which caters to full-cup ladies (D-cups and up), is celebrating the arrival of avant-garde designer Marlies Dekkers' collection in the store with a presentation called "Strapping Lasses" — a multimedia fashion show featuring dancers dressed in the label's cheeky, strap-heavy lingerie looks.

The dancers will be performing a piece choreographed by Rosanna Gamson, who's created original works presented at venues including the J. Paul Getty Center and REDCAT, the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater.

The store, in essence, will be the stage — so get ready to get up close and personal with the dancers. The choreography will start in the storefront windows, moving into the fitting rooms, above the heads of guests, through the stock room and out the back into the courtyard.

The 360-degree show also will be augmented by slide and film projections, which will flicker over dancers, walls, and window panes, and an original music score.

And if you like what you see and aren't a bosomy babe, Jenette Bras will also be offering Marlies Dekkers looks in B and C cups — tonight only.

There will be fit specialists on hand to assist customers with bra selection. And — at least Thursday night — no one will stop you from dancing in your panties.

Jenette Bras: 4308 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. 7 to 9 p.m.

Your Stylist: Dumping your "see-saw" bra for something that fits and flatters

Resident Image stylist and market editor Melissa Magsaysay soothes your sartorial woes in the weekly Your Stylist blog column

I'm 85 -- four children, time and gravity have produced seriously sagging breasts.  You say the mid-line of the bust should be between the arm pit and the elbow. Mine droop almost to the elbow.  I can definitely see that I have lost any muscle mass that may have been there when I was younger and 36/26/36.  Just last month I was fitted for a 44C bra that was supposed to hold my breasts up to a near-normal position.  However, like all the bras I've bought in the last few years they always ride way up in the back and just droop in the front.  I have followed the rule of having a bra fit tightly, but that doesn't work for me either.  Is there a bra out there for me?
Desperate, AEK

Indeed it's a common problem among many woman of various ages, sizes and shapes. Striking that balance of a perfect fit, flattering shape and total comfort in a bra is seemingly impossible, especially when you’re battling gravity. For such a hefty dilemma with plenty of technical fit detail beyond my scope of knowledge, I felt the need to call in reinforcements.  Bra1And who better in this case than the “Bra Whisperer” herself, Susan Nethero.

Nethero is the founder and owner of Intimacy boutiques (there are 12 in the U.S., two in Southern Californa) where she and her staff help woman find the right bra for their body issues. I went to visit Nethero at her Century City Intimacy location and saw firsthand how she gets a bra to fit a woman within an inch of her life. From the shape and contour of the cup to the width and support of the back strap, every element of how a bra is made and fits plays an important role in how you look and feel about your chest and in clothes.

Nethero is full of fit knowledge and for this particular issue she addresses the problem first by saying that very, very few women who should be wearing a 44 band are a C cup. This is because 40 band bras are made for women size 18 and up in clothing, which often accompanies a fuller bust size as well. She also suspects that the band of your bra may be too big.

Bra2 “Many women aren’t aware that 90% of the support of a bra should come from the bra band being firm around the body,” she says “A bra is like a see-saw. When the band is too big it rides up your back and your bust goes south in the front!”

She advises remedying the situation by first making sure the band of the bra is very firm and level around the body’s frame, lifting your chest as a result. “You may not see the exact same result that you did when you were in your 20s and 30s, but you will definitely see a big improvement. There is no reason for you to be drooping or sagging!” Nethero adds that we shouldn’t put too much stock in the shoulder straps-they’re not what do all the work and lifting. The straps provide about 10% of the support. The majority should be in the band.

“Keep in mind that as you decrease the bra band, you will have to increase the cup letter,” Nethero says, adding that cup size can be equally as confusing as band size. “Many women think that all C cups are the same size, but that's not true. Every time you increase the band, the cup gets 1 inch proportionately deeper too. So you will have to increase the cup size for every band size you reduce in order to get the same depth of cup.” She recommends trying a 42D and if that's still too loose try a 40DD or a 38DDD.

If the numbers are confusing, check out the bra calculator on Nethero’s site. Input your current clothing size and bra size, and it will calculate what bra size might be best for you, as well as providing helpful tips on how to perfect the fit.

Video: Susan Nethero, the 'Bra Whisperer,' shows how to wear a bra

Earlier this week, Emili Vesilind chatted with Susan Nethero, the "Bra Whisperer," about how to find a bra that fits and about her high-end bra boutique, Intimacy, which opened in Orange County and Century City last week. But for those who'd like a visual bra tutorial, The Times' sister company KTLA invited Nethero onto their morning show Thursday to offer some demonstrations. Check out the above video to find out what happens.

Q&A: Susan Nethero, the 'Bra Whisperer,' dishes on common bra-fit blunders

10 Underwire that cuts into your ribs, straps that fall down (or dig in), cups that gape at the top. These are only a few common bra-related maladies that Susan Nethero, a.k.a. “The Bra Wisperer,” has the power to soothe.

Nethero, owner of high-end bra boutique Intimacy, which launched two stores in Southern California last week -- at the Century City mall and South Coast Plaza -- was trained under the queen of England's Royal bra fitter and has 18 years of fitting experience (she even sized Oprah Winfrey once).

Intimacy boutiques, including the two new ones here in SoCal, are staffed with employees trained in “Bra Bootcamp” under Nethero. A visit means spending nearly 30 minutes with a trained fitter in a spacious dressing room while she assesses your needs.

You're wearing WHAT?? How not to go too sheer

Underwearjpg
When this major DON'T- PLEASE- PLEASE- DON'T arrived in our All the Rage inbox, we were shaken enough to realize that with white and khaki coming on strong for summer, we'd be shirking our duties if we don't remind you that there is a right way and a wrong way to wear light-colored clothing.

First of all, don't go too sheer, unless you actually want to provide a peek at what's underneath.

Second, don't go too tight, or you'll show off every lump and bump.

Avoid visible panty lines: Wear seamless undies or a thong. And make sure your lingerie is flesh-toned, not white, black, red, pink, orange or any other color. Got it?

"Flesh tones" vary, of course. The picture above was provided by MySkins, a lingerie company that offers 20 different flesh tones -- "highly specific shades of flesh tones," they say.

The best way to make sure you're not overexposed in white: Check every angle in a good mirror in  good light before you take one step out of the house, young lady!
