All the L.A. lovelies turned out for the Jimmy Choo for H&M party in Hollywood last night, wearing pieces from the line that hits stores Nov. 14.
Nothing in the line is over $300, which meant the look was cheap chic. M.I.A. wore over-the-knee boots (the most expensive item at $299) with a sequined shark-emblazoned top by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, before changing into a dress that shimmied when she performed later in the evening. Nicky Hilton chose a sparkling little black dress accessorized with a star-emblazoned clutch, while sister Paris wore a Jimmy Choo for H&M cat suit and Hayden Panettiere slid into a pair of black leather leggings and a zip-up, sequin-covered cardigan.

Shunning the traditional black, brown or beige pump, First Lady Michelle Obama wore Jimmy Choo’s “Glacier” kitten heel in a deep green to complement her cheerful yellow Isabel Toledo ensemble.
The pumps, which matched her olive green leather gloves, were purchased at Chicago boutique Ikram and are from the Jimmy Choo Autumn/Winter 2008 collection.
The unexpected green works well with yellow, which was a popular color on spring-collection runways.

What: Limited-edition Jimmy Choo wellies, thanks to a partnership with the luxury line and Hunter, maker of the iconic Brit field boots for farmers and Londoners with stone country houses and horses. Choo designer Tamara Mellon has said: "I was inspired by images from the festivals of the hip Brit girls in their wellies." (per WGSN.com) Clearly, she means this shot of Kate Moss at the 2005 Glastonbury Festival.
When: The boots will be available this June on JimmyChoo.com, and they actually sound cute, with black embossed crocodile print, gold buckle hardware and a leopard-print lining.
Why: These "Chellies" may be the most affordable Choos yet, though prices have not yet been released. I personally love the Hunter boot in Midnight Sparkle, a traditional style with subtle sparkle added to the vulcanized rubber, which sells for about $98 (65 pounds).
Why not: Duh. We live in L.A.

Jimmy Choo shoes can be sparkly and festive, but Choos as Christmas tree ornaments? Why not? On Nov. 22, a tree decorated in top to bottom Jimmy Choo accessories will be unveiled in the lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The “ornaments” are from the Cruise 2009 collection. Good thing, because boots from Fall/Winter wouldn’t work quite as well as some bright strappy sandals.
And like a high-end version of "The Price Is Right," guests staying at the hotel will get to submit what they believe to be the total value of the tree. The person who guesses closest to the actual amount wins a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes, a Jimmy Choo handbag, a two-night stay at the Beverly Wilshire, a private consultation with Jimmy Choo and treatments at the hotel spa.
The tree will be up until Dec. 31 and the winner will be announced Jan. 10.
OK, so a lot of us aren’t even eligible because we live in L.A. and most likely won’t be booking a hotel room in town. But the R.O.I. may be worth getting a room at the Beverly Wilshire for a night ...
