Fashion News: Maison Martin Margiela confirms H&M collaboration

 

Maison Martin Margiela confirmed its rumored holiday collaboration with H&M by posting a short video on YouTube and announcing the collection will go on sale Nov. 15.

Madonna is in control. So much so that she didn't have a "wardrobe malfunction" during a performance in Istanbul, Turkey, last week. Nope. She purposely stripped off her white button-down shirt and pulled down her bra, with a smirk. [Styleite]

J.C. Penney's attempts to modernize, to glam up a bit even, are not making all customers happy. Donna Jones, 46, of Mikado, Mich., says of chief executive Ron Johnson,  "He’s working hard to 'de-frump' the store without considering that many if not most of its customers might have shopped there precisely because they like the more conservative frumpy look." Christian Louboutin's attempts to be the only shoe designer in the world to market red soles are faring badly. He's currently appealing in a trademark case against Yves Saint Laurent that he lost last year in New York, and a French judge ruled against Louboutin and for Zara in a similar case last week. Regarding a whole different kind of footwear, a news release tells me that Friday is National Flip-Flop Day.
