Rooney Mara, who has been rocking an all-black Goth princess look all awards show season, surprised us by choosing a white Givenchy gown with fin-like details on the bust. The wide strap details at the small of the back are stunning.

Another hit is Viola Davis’ emerald-green Vera Wang gown, which has some interesting crystal floral embroidery and pleating on the skirt. When asked who did her hair, she replied “my mama.” Davis apparently chose to leave her wig (which she has often joked about in public) at home.

Michelle Williams is spot-on with her coral-red strapless Louis Vuitton peplum gown. It is retro-pretty, a nod to the 1950s and perhaps Miss Monroe.

But hands down, the best fashion moment of the evening so far has been seeing Diddy’s curbside wardrobe valet brushing lint from the shoulders of his tuxedo jacket and adjusting his bow tie just so. It was so incredibly “Downton Abbey.”
