New Year's Eve party or red-eye flight, how to look and feel good

Party

It's easy to pull an all-nighter this time of year. In the run-up to Christmas, there are parties and marathon gift-wrapping sessions. For students, add on all-night cram sessions for final exams.

And there's no rest for the weary come Dec. 26. No, post-Christmas just means catching red-eye flights (back home if you've been visiting relatives, off to a ski resort or tropical island if you're lucky). Plus New Year's Eve beckons, with its requirement to toast and kiss at midnight.

So what's a sleep-deprived reveler to do in order to look not like something the cat dragged in but like the cat's meow the morning after? Writer Alene Dawson talked to some experts about how to look and feel your best when dawn blends into the night before.
