H&M’s ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ capsule collection won’t be just for the hard-core Lisbeth Salander wannabes.

Trish Summerville, costume designer for the upcoming David Fincher film, designed the H&M collection, too, but with a slightly different consumer in mind. ‘I hope what I’m conveying with the collection is anybody who can shop at H&M, being female, can go in and find a piece to go with their wardrobe,’ she says in a video taken during the shoot for the collection’s advertising campaign. ‘I hope [there’s] something in there that can appeal to anyone.’

She says she’s not trying to reach out only to tomboys (or computer geeks, we presume), but admits, ‘It’s definitely more of an edgy kind of collection.’

The video shows chunky boots, tight leggings, tees and jackets. It actually looks only slightly edgy to me... but cute.

The clothes are due to go on sale Dec. 14, and the movie will hit theaters Dec. 21. Should be fun to see how many women in the audience dress to match the onscreen heroine.
