Cat Deeley may be a household name thanks to her gig as host of Fox’s hit show ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ but the former model is proving she’s more than a television personality. She’s fast becoming one to watch in the fashion world as well.

What makes Deeley so interesting sartorially is her sense of fashion independence. The Brit proudly operates sans the help of a stylist. Instead, Deeley is responsible for choosing her own outfits for public appearance and all the dresses she dons on ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

Deeley recently brought her sense of style to some fashion events in Los Angeles, where she made several appearances.

One event she attended was Burberry’s launch of its new Body line at its store in Beverly Hills. She showed off her lithe physique in a fitted white blazer with satin black scarf, leather leggings, shearling-lined Burberry leather boots and a black clutch. Her look was a little rocker, a little menswear chic, and the fur-lined boots gave her a snow bunny twist. The look is fun and different, and most important, she looked comfortable.

A white blazer such as the one Deeley wore is a versatile investment piece. For a similar fitted blazer, try the Olivia Moon knit blazer from Nordstrom.com for $88 or the Silence & Noise boyfriend blazer from Urbanoutfitters.com for $78. Deeley’s addition of a satin scarf gave the illusion of a tuxedo-style jacket. Get the menswear-inspired look with the Asos satin lapel tux blazer for $107.82 from Asos.com.

If you’ve ever tried on a pair of leather pants, you know they are not the most comfortable to pull off, both literally and figuratively. Deeley’s leather leggings had the glossy sheen of leather without the discomfort of thick leather pants. For the leather look, try the Plan B black latex glossed side zip detail stretch leggings from Bluefly.com for $50, MeMoi leather impression leggings for $34.95 from DSW.com or the Yummie Tummie ‘Roxie’ leggings with a nifty control top for $66 from Bloomingdales.com.

Deeley’s exposed fur-lined boots added a comfy twist to her party attire. For a similar pair with a wedge heel, try the Diba Rhian wedge boot for $79.95 from DSW.com or, for a high heel, get the Steve Madden Clause for $94.99 from 6pm.com. For a flat boot with faux fur detail, get the Journee collection soft winter boots from Kohls.com for $46.99.

Add your favorite clutch and satin or silk scarf to finish the look. When people compliment you on your new outfit, feel free to proudly divulge that you did it yourself, with no help from a stylist.
