In the midst of the busy fall runway season, Stella McCartney managed not only to design new stepmom Nancy Shevell’s wedding gown and dad Paul McCartney’s outfit, but also the bridesmaid dresses for Sunday’s ceremony.

One was worn by her 7-year-old stepsister, Beatrice, Paul’s daughter with ex-wife Heather Mills.

Of course Stella and other McCartney offspring from his first marriage to the late Linda McCartney attended, as did an eclectic assortment of guests including former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr and his wife, Barbara Bach, 1960s supermodel Twiggy and her husband, Leigh Lawson, Barbara Walters (who is related to Shevell), Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, artist Peter Blake and Olivia Harrison, widow of George Harrison, who was dressed all in black. After the wedding, the reception at McCartney’s London home went on and on. And it must have been pretty good: A neighbor called police about 1:30 a.m. complaining about noise, and DJ Mark Ronson reportedly had to lower the volume. [Daily Mail]

One sweet touch is that McCartney reportedly serenaded his new bride with a song he wrote for her. [People]

Well, of course he did!

[UPDATED: To correct Barbara Bach’s surname, which originally was incorrectly given as Bui.]
