Attn. Jane Lynch (a.k.a. Sue Sylvester): Here’s a ‘Gleeful’ idea for you

I was reading my colleague Jenn Harris’ story about the hottest Halloween costumes of the year, when an idea struck me. One of the hot ones is Coach Sue Sylvester, the brash nemesis of Will Schuester in one of my favorite shows, ‘Glee.’

Sue always wears a tracksuit, and there’s a great scene from one episode when we are allowed to enter her home. There we find racks and racks of tracksuits, all in different colors.

A Sue costume is fine, but Bingo! Here’s my idea. Jane Lynch, the actress who won an Emmy and other accolades for bringing the character to life, should design and market a line of tracksuits. Why not? Numerous other celebrities have their names on lines of clothes, housewares and such. And sometimes a successful line will live on, even after the peak of the celebrity’s fame has passed, as my colleague Melissa Magsaysay reports. And if anyone deserves to profit from the tracksuit craze Sue is setting off, it’s Lynch.

Jane (if you’re reading), for tips on how to do it, take a look at writer Adam Tschorn’s explanation of how these deals go down.

And when you strike gold, don’t forget who gave you the idea. I’ll settle for a thanks.. and maybe an autograph?
