Runway Rundown: Simon Spurr spring-summer 2012

Simon Spurr Spring Summer 2012
What: Simon Spurr's spring-summer 2012 men's runway collection.

Where: Milk Studios, New York City

Theme: "Graphic patterns in the collection have been inspired by the British Naval 'Dazzle' scheme used extensively during World War I."

What that meant: Boldly contrasting and intersecting geometric shapes and colors, some printed, others appliqued or taped. A focus on sportswear meant key pieces included cotton trench coats with leather sleeves, printed outerwear, two-toned suiting and leather-motorcycle jackets bonded with cork.

Perfect for: The modern man headed for manoeuvres on the sartorial high seas.
