The Old Hollywood look is a big trend tonight — bias-cut gowns with sparkly beading (Elisabeth Moss in Marchesa), LBDs (Kaley Cuoco in Romona Keveza) and red carpet red gowns (Kate Winslet in Elie Saab). Aubrey Plaza’s outstanding ruffle-front Juan Carlos Obando dress transformed the funny girl into the picture of movie star glamour (and she’s not).

Some of the more modern-looking gowns are winning me over, too, such as Julie Bowen’s silver lamé Oscar de la Renta and Amy Poehler’s form-fitting navy short-sleeved Peter Som. Dianna Agron’s Roksanda Ilincic dress is a major fashion insider choice. Love the sapphire blue, draped front gown by the London-based designer. It’s very modest, but oh so elegant, especially with the French twist hairstyle.
