Creative Recreation expands into Finish Line, Urban Outfitters

Finish Line has exclusive versions of classic Creative Recreation styles

This month, L.A.-based footwear brand Creative Recreation expanded distribution of its fun, funky, hybrid shoes into Urban Outfitters and Finish Line stores, and to mark the occasion it's stocking both retailers with new and exclusive styles.

Among the offerings at Urban Outfitters are a new style called the Liggio, a classic, low-profile shoe that's available in either gray wool with a bright blue lining or black buffalo leather that retails for $75 (online only). (While the Liggio will eventually be available at other retail accounts, it's currently limited to the Urban landscape.)

Creative Recreation's new Liggio Style premieres at Urbanoutfitters.com Finish Line doesn't get to premiere a shoe this month, but it does get revamped versions of some Creative Recreation classics including the Cesario, Geno and Solano ($88 to $110). (The Solano, for example, is being offered in no fewer than three different colors of patent leather.)

Creative Recreation, which marks its 10th anniversary in 2012, has been a bit of an under-the-radar brand for most of that time, and the greatly expanded retail footprint can only be seen as a strong step into the label's second decade.
