Rimowa celebrated the reopening of its flagship store in Beverly Hills Monday night with a focus on the family.

The sophisticated luggage retailer had occupied a temporary basement space on Rodeo beneath Chopard since January 2010 while it waited for the right street space to open up. It eventually found its home at 313 N. Rodeo Drive.

The evening was hosted by a pregnant, Lanvin-clad Jessica Alba, who was presented with two miniature trolleys for her daughter, Honor, and the little one on the way. “My daughter has a little roller suitcase that she takes all over the house, so now she has a very chic one,” Alba said.

Alba admitted that she packs her suitcase so full that she always has to “sit on it to close it.” As for what she fills it with these days, she said that despite her baby bump she doesn’t like to shop at traditional maternity stores. “I wear anything from Dolce to Lanvin to Gap. I basically wear anything that’s not too clingy.”

Though Alba’s favorite vacation destination is Cabo -- or anywhere else where you can get away from the cellphone and the computers for a couple of days -- Joe Manganiello of “True Blood” said his holiday destination of choice was Pittsburgh, “when it’s snowing and I can go see the Steelers play.”

It was definitely a family affair. Apart from Alba, Paul Stanley of KISS also had a baby bump to show off: that of his wife Erin Sutton.

“Tonight is like a family party,” said Rimowa Chief Executive Dieter Morszeck, who is the grandson of the company’s founder. “We’re a family-owned company since 1898 and today is also for the families.”
