Sweet dress: Sugar artists to make dresses on Sunday’s ‘Food Network Challenge’

This Sunday, the culinary competition series ‘Food Network Challenge’ will pit three sugar artists against one another in the fashion-focused ‘Sugar and Candy Challenge.’

The artists will be required to create four chic sugar ensembles, complete with accessories, for four mannequins that are four miles away (always raising the stakes, that show.)

We can’t begin to imagine how one spins sugar into fabric without a magical loom (operated by an even more magical elf), but we’ll certainly be tuning in to find out.

Fashion journalist Joe Katz will choose the winner, who will ultimately walk away with a $10,000 prize.

The episode debuts on the Food Network at 8 p.m. Sunday.
