Back when we first told you about the bikini Carl’s Jr. had custom-printed with tiny turkey burgers for an advertising campaign featuring Miss Turkey 2010, a company representative humorously floated the possibility the fast-food folks might order up a limited run of the swimsuit to sell online.

Although that hasn’t happened (yet), Thursday comes word that there is a way those turkey-print triangles of fabric can be yours -- complete with Miss Turkey’s autograph -- but only if your wallet is as big as that bathing suit is small.

From May 9-15, the autographed bikini will be up for bid on EBay (we’re told a link to the auction will be posted at the Carl’s Jr. Facebook page) to benefit parent company CKE Inc.’s new charity program, Stars for Troops, for the benefit of military families and veterans. The company is expected to announce the details on May 9.

Buying a burger-print bikini off a beauty queen’s back as an exercise in patriotic pride?

As the company’s new Straight Talk Express of a tag line puts it: ‘That’s just the way it is.’
