The multimedia Mulleavy sisters have now officially made their mark on another medium -- radio. The designers behind Rodarte are the latest tastemakers to be featured in KCRW’s Guest DJ Project download.

And, though they’re not the first fashion designers to offer up a playlist of five songs that have inspired them (previous participants include Stacey Bendet, Scott Sternberg and Trina Turk), they are the first duo to do so -- which isn’t that much of a surprise given the sisters’ seeming two-minds-as-one approach to just about everything.

It should also come as no surprise -- at least to anyone familiar with the label -- that their music choices were heavily inspired by the movies. The podcast -- which was excerpted on ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic’ earlier Wednesday, can be listened to via download or streaming audio by clicking here and includes the following tracks:

1. ‘Here Comes My Girl’ (Tom Petty)
2. ‘Blue Moon’ (Elvis)
3. ‘The End’ (The Doors)
4. ‘Oo-de-lally’ (Roger Miller)
5. ‘Star Wars Theme’ (John Williams)

In addition to designing several costumes for the film ‘Black Swan,’ the Mulleavys’ handiwork appears in a recently mounted exhibition at MOCA, and in 2010 they took home the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award.
