One wonders if Kate Middleton will wake up one day 25 years from now and wonder: ‘What have I done?’ Her fiance’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, discovered that living in a fishbowl is not all it’s cut out to be.

Of course, for the time being, the princess-in-training has undoubtedly banished such thoughts from her mind. She’s got a wedding to prepare for .. .and a little more time to enjoy her life as a single woman before her marriage to Prince William.

There are stores to visit, sales to inspect and restaurants and clubs to patronize -- and Middleton still seems to have the ability to roam around London with some ease, mostly in the swish neighborhoods of South Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Mayfair, all of which are close enough to Buckingham and Kensington palaces.

If you’re curious (and millions are) about where Middleton shops, dines and drinks, Times Fashion Critic Booth Moore has a tour of Kate’s hangouts. That cream-colored dress she wore for engagement photos? The source of her sensible kitten heels? Her favorite hair dresser? It’s all here.
