Officine Panerai, the high-end, highly collectible Italian timepiece brand recognizable for its skull-cracking wristwatches and the trademarked metal bridge surrounding the crown, is adding something to a handful of limited-edition watches that should be instantly recognizable -- a palm-tree-lined Southern California streetscape.

The image has been engraved on the back of just 20 of Panerai’s Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT -- 44mm style watch (which retails for $17,900) and 150 of its Luminor Marina -- 44mm style ($5,100), available exclusively through the Beverly Hills Panerai boutique (9490A Brighton Way between North Rodeo and North Beverly drives) starting this month.

The watches are part of a special-edition series dedicated to Panerai boutiques around the world including Florence, Geneva, Madrid, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.

Which suddenly makes that Starbucks City Mug collection of yours feel a lot less impressive.
