‘She’s good,’ said an awe-struck concertgoer at Tuesday’s Oh Land show at the Troubadour. It was the first time the up-and-coming Danish singing sensation (legal name: Nanna Øland Fabricius) had played an L.A. show since being signed to Epic Records in May 2009. And by the looks of the mesmerized crowd, the sweet-voiced songstress is having no trouble cultivating a West Coast following.

It’s so wonderful here,” Fabricius said of Los Angeles. “I’m always especially inspired when I come here.”

Though she currently calls Brooklyn home, the 25-year-old beauty has gotten a good dose of L.A. in the last year, visiting town once a month to complete an album -- her first -- scheduled for release on March 15.

A former ballerina and the daughter of an opera singer, Fabricius is no stranger to performance. Her dancer past is quite apparent in the quirky-yet-fluid movements she displays on stage. And her moves were enhanced by her outfit -- a flowing silk tunic that she co-designed with costumer Christian Joy.

“I love wearing things that are especially made for the Oh Land world,” Fabricius said. The geometric-print tunic featured Egyptian sun symbols in honor of her most well-known song, “Son of a Gun.’ She wore it with black leggings and champagne-hued satin booties from Opening Ceremony.

This isn’t the first time she’s tried her hand at fashion design. As a teenager growing up near Copenhagen, Fabricius would create her own clothes based on ones seen in the British fashion glossies brought home by her sister, who studied at London’s Royal College of Fashion.

“We didn’t have a lot of money so we would copy what we saw,” she said. “It never turned out how we thought it would. I looked a little bit like a scarecrow.”

In the outfit, Fabricius looked like a young Claudia Schiffer. And in addition to hitting up Opening Ceremony when visiting L.A. (“It’s so much bigger than the one in New York!”), she never misses another local retail staple: Trashy Lingerie, where she buys old stockings.
