Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s clothing label, the Row, is teaming up with Los Angeles-based Toms on a collection of shoes that will land in select department stores. [For the record updated at 3:10 PM Feb. 22, 2011: An earlier version of the post stated that the shoes will be available at Whole Foods in July.]

The styles ($98 to $150) are based on the classic Toms slip-on, and come in plaids from past Row collections, as well as solid cashmere. [For the record updated at 10:28 AM Feb. 22, 2011: An earlier version of the post stated that the price rance for the styles was ($125 to $195)]. They have more subtantial soles, presumably so the Olsens can wear them on the streets in their hometown, New York, come fall and winter.

As for the Row collection itself, it just keeps getting better and bigger. As always, the fall line is full of the kinds of luxe basics you would wear every day, such as a cap sleeve black felt dress with full skirt, a cropped lace top designed to be worn with the designers’ maxi-skirts, tailored pants, tidy jackets and silk blouses in mustard, paprika and light blue colors. There were special pieces, too, such as a blue burnout velvet evening robe, a crocodile coat with fox fur sleeves and, and knitted fur cropped tops with the ease of a sweatshirt.

For fall, the Row empire grows to include leathergoods as well, and they aren’t cheap. The star piece is a convertible backpack for $6,500.
